Prior to war, project was 99% complete on storage tanks but lacked liquefaction technology due to sanctions. March 2025 - The project is owned by National Iranian Gas Exports Company; March 2023 - Iran has restarted construction work on the project and has expected to commence operations in mid-2025; The project has been stalled due to the impact from the US sanctions in September 2019; Project is expected to start in 2025
