March 2026 - QatarEnergy declared force majeure on all LNG shipments on 4 March 2026 following Iranian drone attacks on Ras Laffan Industrial City on 2 March 2026. Production halted; Energy Minister stated return to normal deliveries expected 'weeks to months' after hostilities end. Shell and TotalEnergies cascaded force majeure to downstream customers. May 2025 - Project was launched in 2009
