March 2024 - TotalEnergies has abandoned the project in 2021; In August 2021, The Government of Benin has signed an agreement with TotalEnergies for the development of a floating storage and regasification unit, which will ensure the supply of the Maria Gleta plant with liquefied natural gas; In July 2019, TotalEnergies, the Republic of Benin and Societe Beninoise d'Energie Electrique have signed the gas supply agreement and the host government agreement for the development of LNG import floating terminal and the supply of up to 0.5mntpa of regasified LNG from TotalEnergies's global portfolio to Benin for 15 years
