Status Notes

February 2026 - The project has a capacity of 19.8mntpa; August 2025 - China has received its first cargo from the project; August 2024 - Third gas carrier is being sent to the project; January 2024 - First train of Arctic LNG 2 project has started operating and first shipments are expected in the first quarter of 2024; January 2022 - Novatek and ENN LNG have signed a long-term sale and purchase agreement (SPA) for 0.6mntpa of LNG from the project; As per April 2021, Novatek has announced plans to put up its 60% stake in the project as collateral, as it seeks external long-term financing for its development; Construction started in December 2019; Mitsui and JOGMEC hold 10% stake in project through Japan Arctic LNG B.V.
