March 2026 - FID timeline highly uncertain due to 2026 Iran war and QatarEnergy force majeure declaration. Strait of Hormuz closure and ongoing conflict create significant investment risk. January 2026 - Engineering, procurement and construction works are under way at the project; August 2024 - Qatar Energy is in talks with Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) for a new long-term supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the project; June 2024 - QatarEnergy has signed a sales and purchase agreement with CPC Corporation for supply of 4mntpa of liquefied natural gas from the project; October 2022 - QatarEnergy has selected Shell as its second international partner for the project; Project will increase Qatar Petroleum's LNG capacity to 126mntpa
