Status Notes

October 2025 - Sempra Energy has taken FID for the project in September 2025; August 2025 - Sempra Energy and JERA have signed a 20-year sale and purchase agreement for the supply of 1.5mntpa of LNG from the Port Arthur LNG phase 2 project; July 2025 - Sempra Energy and Bechtel Energy have signed a fixed-price EPC contract for the Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 project, which is currently under development; May 2025 - Sempra Energy has announced that the U.S. Department of Energy issued a permit to the project; July 2024 - Sempra Energy has awarded an engineering, procurement and construction contract to Bechtel Energy for the project; February 2024 - Project still need to get DOE approval; September 2023 - Sempra won regulatory approval from US FERC for this project
